MPS establishes computer network monitoring center

PSNews - The Information Technology Department held a swearing-in ceremony to establish the Ministry of Public Security's Computer Network Monitoring Center and announced decisions on personnel organization of the center, on the afternoon of March 14, 2023, in Hanoi.

Director of Information Technology Department Major General Duong Van Tinh chaired the ceremony.

In order to implement the National Digital Transformation Program and build an e-government model of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS), develop computer network technical infrastructure, build software and databases shared within the Public Security Forces and connected to ministries and branches under the direction of the Government as well as to maintain a stable and regular computer network system around the clock, ensuring network security and information safety is very important.

In addition, it is necessary to have a group of specialized officers to monitor the working network within the Public Security Forces.

The Public Security Central Party Committee and the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security have decided to establish a Computer Network Monitoring Center located at the Information Technology Department. 

The establishment of the Ministry of Public Security's Computer Network Monitoring Center will be responsible for managing, monitoring, safeguarding computer networks and information networks of the Public Security Forces as well as giving early warning of risks and incidents related to the networks, network connection, improving the working efficiency of the computer networks while helping reduce the risk of security and information safety issues.

In addition, it also aims to synchronize solutions, technologies, methods of sharing and receiving monitoring data, plans for troubleshooting network problems, and responding to incidents arising in information systems.

The Ministry of Public Security's Computer Network Monitoring Center will directly manage, organize, operate, and exploit the monitoring system deployed at regional centers and the Public Security Forces’ computer network effectively.

It helps troubleshoot network problems, information security incidents in the widespread computer network system of the Public Security Forces. 

It is more important to further develop facilities, strengthen and supplement human resources, build capacity of officers of the center while the Computer Network Monitoring Center of the Ministry of Public Security operates effectively and efficiently.
