MPS ready to ensure security and safety for Vietnam’s 2020 ASEAN Chairmanship

PSNews – The statement was made at the 3rd working session of the subcommittee on January 7 in Hanoi by Senior Lieutenant General Bui Van Nam, Party Central Committee’s member, Deputy Minister of Public Security, member of the National ASEAN 2020 Committee, Head of the ASEAN Security – Health Subcommittee.

The session aimed to review outcomes of the implementation of the plan set out at the 2nd working session, and roll out a new working plan in preparation for the 36th ASEAN Summit. Deputy Minister of Public Security Bui Van Nam chaired the meeting.

At the meeting, a representative of the standing subcommittee reported delegates on the key working results of the subcommittee since the 2nd working session held on October 24, 2019.

Members of the Subcommittee, representatives of the relevant ministries, branches and public security units under the Ministry of Public Security reviewed the coordination and the implementation of their assignments as well as their difficulties and obstacles  since the 2nd session.

They also pointed out the central tasks to ensure the success of the 36th ASEAN Summit, saying that it would contribute to the success of the tasks of ensuring security and health services for the Vietnam’s 2020 ASEAN Chairmanship.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam hailed the subcommittee’s good outcomes in implementing the key tasks toward the 2020 ASEAN Chairmanship of Vietnam. He also agreed with the working plans of the ministries, branches and public security units in preparation for the Chairmanship.

He then urged all relevant units to be more proactive, pay due attention to the task of grasping and forecasting the situation in order to promptly advise the National ASEAN 2020 Committee, and make good preparation of security and health for the 2020 ASEAN Chairmanship of Vietnam.

Regarding the subcommittee’s major tasks in the coming time, Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam asked the standing subcommittee to consider opinions and ideas from participating delegates so as to perfect its working plan, strengthen information and exchanges to improve the subcommittee’s management and its cooperation with relevant units, thereby contributing to successfully fulfilling its assigned tasks.
