MPS starts Population and Housing Census across agencies and units

PSNews - The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) started conducting the Population and Housing Census across its subordinate agencies and units from 8 am on April 1st, and the mission is expected to end on April 10th, according to the Steering Committee for Population and Housing Census of the MPS.

Under Directive No.44/CT-TTg and Decision No.772/QD-TTg issued on December 6th 2017 and  June 6th 2018 respectively by the Prime Minister on the preparation and implementation of the 2019 Population and Housing Census, the MPS has assigned in collaboration with the Ministry of Planning and Investment to complete the plan and cost estimates  for the Census of the Public Security Forces; conduct a general survey on the population designated by the Central Census Steering Committee according to the master plan of the Census; and develop a plan to protect the census nationwide.

In response to the assigned tasks, the MPS has completed the preparation for the 2019 Population and Housing Census within the forces. The MPS also actively coordinated with the General Statistic Office to complete the 2019 Population and Housing Census Plan under the requirement of the Central Steering Committee for Population and Housing Census.

In preparing for the census, the Minister of Public Security issued Decision No. 5744 / QD-BCA on September 25th 2018 to establish the Steering Committee and the Steering Committee Office for the Population and Housing Census under the MPS. 

The Steering Committee for Population and Housing Census of the MPS also issued a number of documents relating to the census, including the plan on conducting the population and housing census in the Public Security Forces; the Protection Plan for the 2019 Population and Housing Census; the Plan on organizing conferences to train responsible officials about the Census.

The MPS also instructed all public security agencies and units to set up steering committees responsible for conducting the population and housing census in their agencies or units, and safely protecting the 2019 Population and Housing Census.
