Police Department for Records Management actively serves the fight against crimes

PSNews – The Police Department of Records Management on July 11 held a conference to review its task performance in the first half of 2019 and roll out its working plan for the remaining months.

In the first 6 months of 2019, the Police Department for Records Management actively participated in controlling crimes and ensuring public security and order. At the same time, it completed its new organizational structure according to the regulations of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS), and advised the MPS leaders to issue circulars regulating archives and records work and statistics in the Public Security Forces.

Over the past 6 months, the unit has received over 2 million investigation requests of professional agencies and units under the MPS for investigation and internal political protection. It conducted searches and checks of thousands of fingerprint patterns, and discovered 67 suspects, helping investigation police units to arrest them.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh praised the achievements made by the Police Department of Records Management in the past time.

Regarding its future missions, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh asked the Department to focus on its political missions with a focus on the key tasks mentioned by the Minister of Public Security at the conference held recently to review tasks performance of the MPS in the first 6 months of 2019.

The unit should also strengthen the application of information technology and digital technology as well as advancements and achievements of the 4th industrial revolution into police archives and records management.

The Deputy Minister also asked the Department to complete and improve the software systems and databases while effectively implementing the project to build a Criminal Information Center; continue the administrative reform and reduce the red tape in receiving, handling, and providing information and data for public security agencies and units. The unit should also promote training for its staff members to improve their professional competence and skills.
