Police help student in flooded areas return to school

PSNews - As soon as the floods went away, the Nghia Hanh District Police came to damaged primary and secondary schools in Hanh Dung commune to help local teachers and students clean up facilitates to soon resume schooling.

Recent heavy rains together with quick releases of huge volumes of water from hydropower reservoirs have badly damaged hundreds of schools in Quang Ngai and preventing teachers and students from going to school, and leaving negative impacts on people’s lives and production.

Head teacher of Hanh Dung district kindergarten Nguyen Thi Tiem said: ''After the floods, many kindergartens were closed because of heavy damages and pollution. Only several of us could not clean up and tidy the school in a short time to welcome again kids.''

Knowing the situation, officers and soldiers of the Nghia Hanh District Police were mobilized to primary and secondary schools to help teachers to clean up their schools to soon resume schooling.

Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Tan Bang, Secretary of the Nghia Hanh District Police Youth Union organization said: '' we are planning to go to East Hanh Tin, West Hanh Tin and Hanh Phuoc, baking local people in cleaning up their homes and settling down their lives.''

Local teachers highly appreciated the significant supports of police forces in relieving consequences of flood in their schools.

Tran Van Tuan, teacher of East Hanh Tin Secondary School happily said: ''Thanks to the help of the police, we have finally completed cleaning up the school by December 19th. Fortunately, the school’s teachers and students managed to move all tables and chairs to the second floor so now we could renew teaching and education.''

During the flood, local police have also come to deeply-flooded and isolated areas to evacuate people safely.
