The 10th Vietnam Table Tennis Forum Championship - CAND Newspapers Cup kicks off

PSNews - About 800 athletes of more than 120 domestic and international teams will compete for the CAND Newspaper Cup at the 10th Vietnam Table Tennis Forum Championship.

The above information was released on October 27th at a press conference and the group-stage drawing ceremony for the 10th Vietnam Table Tennis Forum Championship – CAND/Public Security Newspaper Cup,a prestigious tournament in the tournament system of the Vietnam Table Tennis Federation held annually by the CAND/Public Security Newspaper.

Presenting at the press conference and the group stage drawing ceremony were Mr. Tong Duc Thuan, Deputy Secretary General of the Vietnam Table Tennis Federation - Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee; Mr. To Duc Hoa, national-level referee, member of the Organizing Committee; and representatives of tournament sponsor organisations and press agencies.

This is an annual festival for fans of table tennis, a fascinating playground for not only table tennis professional but also amateur athletes in Vietnam. 

In particular, this year's tournament is held on the occasion of the 70th anniversary to mark the first issue of the Cong An Nhan Dan (CAND)/Public Security Newspaper(1/11/1946- 1/11/2016).

According to the Organizing Committee, the tournament aims to promote sports movements across the country and to provide a good opportunity for fans and players of table tennis at home and abroad to exchange with one another.

According to the representative of the Organizing Committee, this year’s tournament is participated in by more than 800 athletes from 120 delegations, including professional athletes, amateur athletes inVietnam and from foreign countries, who will compete in 3 categories: teams, singles and doubles. 

In each category, athletes will be divided into 5 tables: professional class and classes A, B, C, D. The team champions at the Vietnam Open 2016 will receive cups, flags and cash rewards and gifts from sponsors.

Meanwhile, outstanding individual will receive medals, flags, cash rewards and other valuable gifts. 

This year’s tournament attracts the participation of many top players such as Doan Ba ​​Tuan Anh, Tran Tuan Quynh, Le Tien Dat, Nguyen Anh Tu and Nguyen Thi Phuong Linh.

This demonstrates the credibility, the professionalism of the tournament and is expected to entertain audiences with keen and exciting competitions.
