The imprint of Son La Police in implementing building police officer image movement

PSNews - In response to the movement "Building on policemen’s qualities of bravery and humanity and dedication to the people", the Son La Provincial Police has deployed the movement in various forms among local police officers and soldiers.

For best outcomes, the Son La Provincial Police had selected 4 units, namely the Social Order Management Division, Traffic Police Division, Song Ma District Police Division and Son La Municipal Police sub-Department, as samples in implementing the movement.

Based on the typical characteristics of their tasks, local police units focused on different contents of the movement and set objectives. For instance, the provincial traffic police tried to be a polite and friendly force, and the Mai Chau District Police followed the slogan “Innovative, active, effective and exemplary police officers.”

One of the major contents that all Son La police force strived to well implement was a continued administrative reform, particularly in identity card issuance, traffic vehicle registration, residence management, and exit and entry management. Accordingly, all police offices had clear guidelines on administrative procedures, placed public complaint mail boxes, made public hotlines connecting to units’ leaders, and arranged front help desks.

After 6 months the movement "Building on policemen’s qualities of bravery and humanity and dedication to the people" has made a big positive change in thinking and action of all policemen of Son La province. In the first 6 months of 2017, Son La police has brought to light 460 cases, arrested 1,115 suspects, and resolved 100% serious criminal cases.

Son La police has also discovered and arrested 551 drug-related cases, seizing 907 suspects, 59.38kg of heroin, 21.51 kg of opium, 173,009 pills of synthetic drugs, 102 million VND, 8 cars, 147 motorbikes, 232 cell phones and some other exhibits.

A number of extremely serious criminal cases were  successfully investigated in just a short time. Son La police also cracked down on 7 organized criminal gangs; handled 70 criminal suspects from some provinces and cities; and clarified violations of several criminal groups, in order to ensure local security and order.

Additionally, Son La police participated in social activities, including "Light up the village", “Cozy Tet for needy ethnic minorities”, “Saturday for people” and blood donation dirves.

The practical results and positive changes in thinking and action of Son La police have demonstrated the local police force’s effective implementation of the movement "Building on policemen’s qualities of bravery and humanity and dedication to the people". It has also helped spread the movement's spirit and multiply the number of outstanding individuals and organizations in serving the nation and the people.
