Japanese visitor sends thank-you letter to Hai Phong Police

PSNews - A Japanese visitor named Matsushita Naoto, aged 66, on July 31 sent a letter to the Director of the Hai Phong Municipal Police Department to thank the local police for returning his lost passport.

In his letter, Mr. Matsushita Naoto said that he found that he had lost his passport on April 23 when checking out the hotel he had stayed in.

He then came to Hai Phong Immigration Office to report the case. He was received by two very kind and helpful policewomen named Pham Thi Anh and Do Thi Ha Vinh. They gave him food and money and drove him to the Japanese Embassy in Hanoi.

Having returned to Japan for some time, he was so surprised when receiving back his lost passport sent by post on July 3.

" I wrote this letter to express my special gratitude to the Vietnamese police officers, especially the two policewomen Pham Thi Anh and Do Thi Ha Vinh, for the great support. I am also very grateful to the police officers in relevant units who have helped me find my passport", he said in the letter.

Earlier on April 23, the Hai Phong Provincial Immigration Office received Mr. Matsushita Naoto's report on his passport lost. The Japanese tourist also requested local police to help him return home. After having examined Matsushita Naoto's personal information in the database, the office's leader assigned Major Pham Thi Anh and Captain Do Thi Ha Vinh to support the Japanese citizen.

After several days of investigation, on June 29, the local police found the lost passport that Mr. Matsushita Naoto might have left at Mobifone Company on No. 4 Tran Hung Dao Street, Hai Phong City, and sent it back to him.
