Minister Luong Tam Quang pays courtesy call on Chairman of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly Standing Committee

Within the framework of his working visit to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) from June 13–16, Member of the Politburo and Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang paid a courtesy call on Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK Jo Yong Won.

Warmly welcoming Minister Luong Tam Quang and his entourage to the DPRK, Mr. Jo Yong Won expressed his belief that the visit would further deepen the traditional friendship between the DPRK and Vietnam in accordance with the agreements reached during the historic meeting between the top leaders of the two countries in Pyongyang in October 2025.

Mr. Jo Yong Won briefed Minister Luong Tam Quang on the success of the 9th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea, while congratulating the Communist Party of Vietnam on the successful organization of its 14th National Congress.

He expressed confidence that the Vietnamese people, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam headed by General Secretary and State President To Lam, would achieve significant accomplishments in implementing the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress.

On behalf of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam, Minister Luong Tam Quang congratulated the Workers' Party of Korea on the successful organization of its 9th Congress, and commended the remarkable achievements attained by the Party, State and people of the DPRK under the leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea headed by General Secretary and President of State Affairs Kim Jong Un.

At the meeting, the two sides agreed that, following the visit to Vietnam by General Secretary and President of State Affairs Kim Jong Un in March 2019 and the visit to the DPRK by General Secretary and State President To Lam in October 2025, relations between the two Parties and the two countries have entered a new stage of development across various fields.

Based on the agreements reached between General Secretary and State President To Lam, and General Secretary and President of State Affairs Kim Jong Un, the two sides agreed to continue concretizing high-level agreements between the leaders of the two Parties and countries, thereby promoting Vietnam–DPRK cooperation in the fields of economy, culture, education, sports, tourism and people-to-people exchanges in a more substantive and effective manner.

The two sides also agreed to enhance the sharing of experience in Party building, national governance, socio-economic development as well as in improving people's livelihoods, while strengthening public education and improving public awareness, particularly among younger generations, of the traditional friendship and close ties between the Parties, States and peoples of the two countries.
