The event was chaired by General To Lam, Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Public Security Central Party Committee and Minister of Public Security.
In February 2022, under-ministerial agencies and local police units effectively rolled out their work plans, ensured absolute security and safety for activities of leaders of the Party, State, international delegations and important socio-political events in the country.
The nationwide police forces also conducted an intensive campaign to attack crimes and ensure security for the 2022 Lunar New Year while implementing plans to fight crimes during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Public Security Forces in February successfully investigated 2,578 cases of social order-related offences and arrested 6,355 related people, destroyed 94 criminal groups. They also cleared 1,774 drug-related cases, arrested 2,529 involved suspects, seized more than 86kg of heroin, 46kg and 102,000 pills of synthetic drugs.
Additionally, the police nationwide solved 240 cases of violating regulations on the use and possession of military weapons, explosives, and combat gears, and arrested 351 involved persons.
Meanwhile, the traffic police force handled 165,099 cases of violating traffic order and safety regulations, fined some VND 189 billion, and impounded 31,456 vehicles.
Relevant agencies under the MPS also speeded up the deployment of online public services, bringing the total online public services provided by the MPS to 66 and settled 37,722 documents online.
During the month, local police units also held enlistment events to receive raw recruits for public security agencies and units. Later this month, the Mobile Police Command opened training courses for the newly recruited soldiers.
The conference also highlighted the effort of the public press and media agencies, which fully and vividly reflected activities of the People's Public Security Forces.
Underscoring key tasks for the forces in March, Minister To Lam requested that agencies under the MPS and local police units should continue implementing their work plans for 2022 while paying attention to performing the projects and missions assigned to the MPS by the Government and the Prime Minister as well as accelerating the drafting of legal documents in accordance to the schedule.
