Public Security Newspaper holds roots-returning trip to Thanh Hoa province

PSNews- A Public Security Newspaper’s delegation, led by its Editor-in-Chief, Senior Colonel Pham Khai, held a roots-returning trip on July 11 to Thanh Hoa province on the occasion of the 75th Traditional Day of the Public Security Forces (1945-2020) and 15th “All people protecting national security” Festive Day (2005-2020).

During the trip, the Public Security Newspaper’s delegation offered incense to the late President Ho Chi Minh at the Rung Thong historical relic site in Rung Thong town, Dong Son district, Thanh Hoa province. The relic commemorates the meeting between President Ho Chi Minh and the Party Committee and people of Thanh Hoa province 73 years ago.

This is also the place where the Thanh Hoa Police Department organized a political review on the implementation of Uncle Ho's Six Teachings and launched an emulation movement called "Training cadres - Gaining feats of arms" in the whole Thanh Hoa provincial police force.

The meaningful ceremony saw the participation of Senior Colonel Tran Kim Tham, Deputy Editor-in-chief of the Public Security Newspaper; Mr. Le Viet Tri, Deputy Chairman of the Dong Son District People Committee as well as representatives from the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police Department and 80 reporters, cadres of the Public Security Newspaper.

At the event, Senior Colonel Pham Khai reported the working results and achievements of the unit over the past time to Uncle Ho, saying the newspaper has rolled various plans and promoted political and ideological education for its officers and staff in line with Instruction 09 of the Ministry of Public Security on studying and following the Six Teachings of Uncle Ho.

Over the past time, the Public Security Newspaper has promoted the glorious tradition of the Public Security press, heightened the sense of responsibility and overcome all difficulties to fulfill its assigned duties.

The unit has also actively and creatively implemented the tasks of disseminating the resolutions, guidelines of the Party, the policies of the State, as well as the directions of the Ministry of Public Security on ensuring security and order and building clean and strong public security forces.

Over the past time, the Public Security Newspaper has also mobilized kind donors to support disadvantaged people in all parts of the country.

In the first half of the year, dozens of charitable programs, costing 11 billion VND, have been organized. These social programs targeted children of ethnic minority groups in remote areas, as well as police officers in need and those who sacrificed performing duties. Recently, the Public Security Newspaper also launched programs to support police officers in the fight against the COVID-19 epidemic as well as eye and heart surgeries for poor patients.

For their great achievements, many individuals and teams of the Public Security Newspaper have been honored with noble titles and awards by the Ministry of Public Security and central agencies, branches and localities. The newspaper also won one A prize and one C prize at the 4th Nationwide Press Awards on Party building, and one B prize and one consolation prize at the 2019 National Press Award.

At the solemn ceremony, the delegation paid tribute and expressed their gratitude to the great contributions of Uncle Ho, who devoted his life to the struggle for national independence and freedom, and peace and happiness of the people.

"Every Party member, officer, reporter and worker of the Public Security Newspaper should continuously drill in revolutionary morality, actively study and follow Uncle Ho's thoughts, morals and style", Senior Colonel Pham Khai emphasized.

On the occasion, the Public Security Newspaper’s delegation also paid a visit to the Dong Son District Police Station. At the meeting, Senior Colonel Pham Khai presented a souvenir to the Dong Son District Police Station and presented 30 gifts, worth 30 million VND, to officers at the Dong Son District Police Station for their outstanding achievements in the fight against COVID-19.
