PSNews - Under the theme "Economy of press agencies", representatives of public security press agencies discussed difficulties, obstacles and limitations in press activities

In the current economic difficult situation, Major General Mai Van Ha instructed public security press agencies to radically renovate their personnel work and to cut down the number of labors while developing high-quality human resources.

The General Department of Politics under the Ministry of Public Security held a monthly meeting of the public security press agencies on June 29, in Ho Chi Minh City. Lieutenant General Le Van De, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics chaired the meeting.

The monthly meeting also saw the participation of Major General Mai Van Ha, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics, Director of the Public Security Center for Film – Radio – Television; leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City Municipal Police and representatives of other public security press agencies.

According to assessment of the Department of Political Work, in the first 6 months of 2017, public security press agencies have well implemented assignments, promptly reflecting important and current national events as well as results of the public security forces in ensuring national security, social order and safety.

Particularly, dissemination of information about crime prevention as well as building force have been accelerated by all public security press agencies.

Under the theme "Economy of press agencies", representatives of public security press agencies discussed difficulties, obstacles and limitations in press activities.

Senior Colonel Hoang Xuan Quang, Deputy Director of the Public Security Center for Film – Radio – Television claimed that, while civilian press agencies can attract many social resources, public security press agencies more or less have fewer opportunities to lure ads to their publications and broadcasting programs, which makes it difficulty for them to run their working systems.

Colonel Nguyen Thuy Quynh, Deputy Editor in Chief of the Public Security Newspaper pointed out that the publishing of paper newspaper faces many difficulties. Although the Public Security Newspaper has many publications, only the daily public security newspaper is distributed to communal-level police units.

Other publications as An Ninh The Gioi (World's Public Security), Canh Sat Toan Cau (Global Police), Van Nghe Cong An (Public Security force's Art) are only sold to the division level  and above.

Therefore, Colonel Nguyen Thuy Quynh proposed the Ministry of Public Security to support public security press agencies in paying salaries for their press workers. Representatives of a number of public security press agencies also agreed with the proposal.

Senior Colonel Tran Trong Dung, Editor in Chief of the Ho Chi Minh Municipal Public Security Newspaper urged involved agencies and units under the Ministry of Public Security to promptly release information of public concern to public security press agencies so that they could orient the public opinion on sensitive issues on time.

In addition, in order to maintain the numbers of the publications and releases of the public security press agencies in the current situation, the Ho Chi Minh Municipal Public Security Newspaper and other local newspapers have decided to distribute their publications to supermarket systems.

Lieutenant General Le Van De expressed his empathy with difficulties of public security press agencies and saying that he will submit the proposals, including corporate income tax on public security press agencies, to leaders of the Ministry of Public Security for consideration.

However, Major General Mai Van Ha said that it would be better if all agencies and units of the Ministry of Public Security will strengthen their coordination with public security press agencies, early releasing the public press valuable information of public concern.

In the current financial difficult context, Major General Mai Van Ha instructed public security press agencies to radically renovate their personnel work and cut down unqualified workers while continuously developing high-quality human resources.
